Hit 67 the other night and I managed to get a party in Caedarva this morning, which was actually pretty good until I had to run out and take care of some stuff.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/R5v4YPEOW7I/AAAAAAAAAKU/NkDyczRJZUI/s1600-h/img_20080126_114742.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/R5v4YPEOW7I/AAAAAAAAAKU/NkDyczRJZUI/s400/img_20080126_114742.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159990893327834034" border="0" /></a><br />I'm growing very weary of Salvage... seriously driving me insane. I'm becoming more emotionally unattatched from the abysmal spawn/drop rates, which is certainly helping my sanity, but that doesn't make it much better. Tonight we did Bhaflau, which we're locked into for me, due to the fact that I'm the only one without a piece... in our whole group. Mad Bomber failed to be up again, leaving me at 2/3 to Morrigan's Cuffs and not going anywhere very soon. We did the second floor bee rampart for a while, but no sign of a Skirmish Pephedro for anyone's Usukane Sune-ate. We did the 10 gears on the floor before the boss, and Blaize once again pulled perfectly, eliminating the hate reset on Homing Missile. Still no dice on the 25 for my Usukane Hizayoroi; we got Ares body and Marduk hands instead, which were sadly lost due to a badly-timed warp.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/R5v5jPEOW8I/AAAAAAAAAKc/a1z96MHbgd0/s1600-h/img_20080126_195340.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/R5v5jPEOW8I/AAAAAAAAAKc/a1z96MHbgd0/s400/img_20080126_195340.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159992181818022850" border="0" /></a><br />Yep. Interest hasn't been waning, just been incredibly... busy. Spring break was a couple weeks ago (a week in Cancun with my best friends... just what I needed! :D), and I've been playing catch-up-and-go with everything in my life, especially school.<br /><br />So in summary...<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Ria_iZWti6I/AAAAAAAAAJs/ZMOT6MImOVw/s1600-h/RDM37.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Ria_iZWti6I/AAAAAAAAAJs/ZMOT6MImOVw/s320/RDM37.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054938229412563874" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />-RDM37, allowing me to focus totally on...<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Ria_3ZWti7I/AAAAAAAAAJ0/0t5r78NWj3U/s1600-h/img_0666.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Ria_3ZWti7I/AAAAAAAAAJ0/0t5r78NWj3U/s320/img_0666.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054938590189816754" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />It's not really so totally obvious, but that's Blizzard III (one of the coolest spells in the game!), so that means I've achieved<br />-BLM64. :D<br /><br />Did a couple Omega runs with Rakeun and a few assorted "friends":<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RibAS5Wti8I/AAAAAAAAAJ8/OS2LYhqGTTQ/s1600-h/img_0654.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RibAS5Wti8I/AAAAAAAAAJ8/OS2LYhqGTTQ/s400/img_0654.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054939062636219330" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RibAnZWti9I/AAAAAAAAAKE/y9YjrrARi2I/s1600-h/img_0669.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RibAnZWti9I/AAAAAAAAAKE/y9YjrrARi2I/s400/img_0669.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054939414823537618" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />That's really pretty much it. Life in FF world has been relatively uexciting. More as more develops... I'm probably going to be moneymaking for a really {Long time}, due to needing a bunch of new gear for BLM. Sigh. :/Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-7562305404393075622007-03-04T22:09:00.000-08:002008-12-11T22:01:59.652-08:00Chains of Promathia: complete. This weekend was all about finishing CoP. The 8-3 Ix'zdi pot BC was planned for 2pm EST on Saturday... the beginning of the end!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu0y8g2bXI/AAAAAAAAAJI/MAKlOcZ9mJc/s1600-h/img_0522.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu0y8g2bXI/AAAAAAAAAJI/MAKlOcZ9mJc/s320/img_0522.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5038319395474402674" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />This battle really turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. On our first run, we wiped the first BLM pot and got the second to 5%, but then it went back to its pedestal and regened all its life instantly. -_- needless to say, we wiped.<br /><br />We geared up to try again, and the second run went much more smoothly. We easily defeated the first two BLM pots, thanks to an altered strategy, and wiped as planned. After resting for weakness, we killed the second two pots, RDMs (they really liked Stone I... dunno why), and we were at the Luminous Convergence!<br /><br />Pretty mindblowing cutscene commenced, and we wanted to take on Promathia. Sadly, not everybody was available, so we waited.<br /><br />Limbus was after, Apollyon NW again, because Klyim (BLM) went along for the ride. We had a bit of a problem with the small behemoths, but we got through it okay... 7 coins, not bad.<br /><br />After a while, we did the pot BC again later that day for Tarai and Jess. Klyim came along... can't really say I like him too much. He was convinced he could solo the last pot... while weakened. I told him not to do anything dumb, he misinterpreted it as me calling him stupid, started verbally attacking me, blah blah. We got kicked the first time (my fault, I suppose, but people who know me know I ALWAYS play it safe), but we got it done the second time.<br /><br />Later Saturday, we really DID do Promathia. We were stuck at 5 for a really long time, but Cele got done with BBQ stuff, and it was Tarai's birthday, so we suckered her into it :P /kneel Cele, it was really kind of you to help us with that BC.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu3EMg2bYI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/xbj2ag6aGe0/s1600-h/img_0542.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu3EMg2bYI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/xbj2ag6aGe0/s320/img_0542.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5038321890850401666" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Yeah... Promathia went down. Another mindblowing cutscene commenced. I was stunned... we won! Went to bed.<br /><br />Woke up this morning about 10 minutes before conquest tally... got online, and noticed Blaize was online. Being that we've done just about everything in this game together, we finished Chains of Promathia together too.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu4A8g2bZI/AAAAAAAAAJY/2LKTiVBo7HM/s1600-h/img_0587.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu4A8g2bZI/AAAAAAAAAJY/2LKTiVBo7HM/s320/img_0587.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5038322934527454610" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I gotta say... if access to Promyvion - Dem/Mea/Holla, Lufaise Meadows, Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Safehold, Sealion's Den, Phomiuna Aquaducts, Riverne - Site #A01, Riverne - Site #B01, Sacrarium, Promyvion - Vahzl, Al'Taieu, the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi, The Garden of Ru'Hmet, the Empyreal Paradox, Temenos, and Apollyon, along with a Ducal Guard's ring, a Tavnazian Ring, a Tamas ring, and a whole bunch of key items with really cool descriptions, AND a bunch of really cool/interesting/perilous/amazing stories to tell the young'ns weren't enough reasons to finish CoP, that last cutscene in Lufaise Meadows as you approach Blueblade Fell definitely was enough reason.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu41sg2baI/AAAAAAAAAJg/V5CDdFmF8mg/s1600-h/img_0591.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Reu41sg2baI/AAAAAAAAAJg/V5CDdFmF8mg/s320/img_0591.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5038323840765554082" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />There's really nothing else I can say... except despite all the frustration, bitching, hardships, losses, and friendships lost over CoP, I don't regret finishing it at all.Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-10627172506856985962007-02-18T13:41:00.000-08:002008-12-11T22:02:07.132-08:00Biiiiiig update.Ok, so I haven't updated this in a while, which is interesting, since the most important thing that's ever happened to me in-game happened recently.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjKY2uMhcI/AAAAAAAAACQ/TTDz0q3i0X4/s1600-h/altaieu.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjKY2uMhcI/AAAAAAAAACQ/TTDz0q3i0X4/s320/altaieu.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032995111941473730" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />...basically.<br /><br />So although much of our static still had to get through the Airship BC (well, Oufnev and Dugi at least), the temptation of finally getting to sea was too great for a few of us. So we decided to shoot for it shortly after finishing the Airship battle.<br /><br />We began PM7-4 in Bibiki Bay, with a Kraken NM.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjLQWuMhdI/AAAAAAAAACY/QMuHemPbhf8/s1600-h/img_0212.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjLQWuMhdI/AAAAAAAAACY/QMuHemPbhf8/s320/img_0212.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032996065424213458" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />He was really easy. I was expecting a bit of trouble with Hundred Fists, but that didn't happen. Eh... can't complain about an easy fight :P<br /><br />Next we headed to Misareaux Coast, for a bugard.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjLuWuMheI/AAAAAAAAACg/ZW2nImtk9Ks/s1600-h/img_0216.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjLuWuMheI/AAAAAAAAACg/ZW2nImtk9Ks/s320/img_0216.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032996580820288994" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I thought we would have more trouble with this NM than we did. After hearing that it had very high physical resistance, I expected it to wear down our resources until we had nothing left, and then kill us off. No such luck for it XD... it ended up dying very quickly, which kinda... well... ruined my hopes that this mission would be at least a little difficult.<br /><br />Finally, I actually DID get my wish. The tonberry NM(s) in Carpenters' Landing turned out to be the most interesting part of this mission. Blaize told us that we could camp very far away from where the NMs actually spawn (i.e., at the tunnel, out of aggro range), and just pop the first one (a NIN, with Mijin Gakure), while avoiding aggroing the other ones, that pop 10 or so seconds later. If we managed to keep the NIN at bay while waiting for the others to depop, we could kill it and get the cutscene while only needing to kill one mob.<br /><br />Sure, eventually it worked... but it took some trial and error.<br /><br />After arriving and buffing, Svayn (being /THF, for Flee) popped the NM and brought it back to us. All went as planned, the others were up (Nikup was tracking them as SAM/RNG for Wide Scan), and we held the NIN until the others depopped.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjNBmuMhfI/AAAAAAAAACo/Vi4Df7CFXdI/s1600-h/mijin+gakure+tonberry+kill.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjNBmuMhfI/AAAAAAAAACo/Vi4Df7CFXdI/s320/mijin+gakure+tonberry+kill.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032998011044398578" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />...which, incidently, was right as it used Mijin Gakure.<br /><br />As you know, Mijin Gakure is dependant on the HP of the person/mob using it, and the mob was above 90%, so even with Shell V and Barfira, it still managed to do 3000+ to almost everyone. So... we decided on a different course of action: we would still pop the NM and wait for the others to despawn before killing it, but we would weaken it to about 10-20% so that Mijin Gakure wouldn't outright wipe us, and then whoever had hate (i.e. Tarai, the tank) would kite it until it used MG (since that's when the others despawned).<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjN62uMhgI/AAAAAAAAACw/FQq80ALvQOg/s1600-h/img_0222.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjN62uMhgI/AAAAAAAAACw/FQq80ALvQOg/s320/img_0222.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032998994591909378" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The plan worked perfectly. Though I had a little difficulty giving Tarai Regen and Barfira, it eventually got on, and Mijin Gakure only hit her for about 600 damage when the mob was being kited at around 15% -- way too little for the mob to actually recover on us. It went down with little trouble after that, and once we completed a few more cutscenes, we were ready for Tenzen!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjOhWuMhhI/AAAAAAAAAC4/x-FP_XsDxjY/s1600-h/the+warrior%27s+path.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjOhWuMhhI/AAAAAAAAAC4/x-FP_XsDxjY/s320/the+warrior%27s+path.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032999656016872978" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The plan was simple: with the setup we had, it was impossible to lose.<br /><br />-Espera, WHM/BLM<br />-Tarai, PLD/NIN<br />-Nikup, WAR/SAM<br />-Blaize, WAR/SAM<br />-Svayn, SAM/THF<br />-Jinsia, SAM/THF (I think it was /THF)<br /><br />We all got about 300% TP before entering the battlefield.<br /><br />We zerged him: Raging Rush, Steel Cyclone, Rampage, Tachi: Gekko, Vorpal Blade, everything we had. He died... pretty fast.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjPgWuMhiI/AAAAAAAAADA/O6vXraSNuzE/s1600-h/img_0239.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjPgWuMhiI/AAAAAAAAADA/O6vXraSNuzE/s320/img_0239.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033000738348631586" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And before we knew it, we found ourselves in Al'Taieu.<br /><br />I took a LOT of screenshots during that first visit to the Celestial Capital, and there's no way I'm going to post them all, but I'll post a few highlights:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQF2uMhjI/AAAAAAAAADI/b5AxJAdWhmM/s1600-h/img_0256.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQF2uMhjI/AAAAAAAAADI/b5AxJAdWhmM/s320/img_0256.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033001382593726002" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQamuMhkI/AAAAAAAAADQ/xQLHyQwAeRA/s1600-h/img_0266.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQamuMhkI/AAAAAAAAADQ/xQLHyQwAeRA/s320/img_0266.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033001739076011586" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQq2uMhlI/AAAAAAAAADY/b3cuAnO-ZZ4/s1600-h/img_0269.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjQq2uMhlI/AAAAAAAAADY/b3cuAnO-ZZ4/s320/img_0269.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033002018248885842" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Our first order of business in Al'Taieu was to find all of the Quasilumins in the area. This achieved two purposes: we learned a few things about the Garden of Antiquity, and we also obtained the map of Al'Taieu! Wootga! ^^<br /><br />Anyway, several people had to leave after we picked up the map, so we (read: I) decided to check out northern Al'Taieu, easily accessable from the crags of Dem, Mea, and Holla. These lead to some of the area's higher-level monsters (usually indicated by the Om' prefix, rather than the lower-level Ul'), as well as to Limbus, both Apollyon (looking an awful lot like Promyvion) and Temenos (looking like the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and The Garden of Ru'hmet).<br /><br />Of course, with the Om' prefix comes monsters several levels higher...<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjRjWuMhmI/AAAAAAAAADg/Vj7U2729ER8/s1600-h/img_0279.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjRjWuMhmI/AAAAAAAAADg/Vj7U2729ER8/s320/img_0279.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033002988911494754" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Including the dreadful Om'yovra, which, due to a carelessness on my part, demolished me in a few swift blows. -_-<br /><br />After being raised, we continued exploring, awestruck at the amazing area we found ourselves in after all the work we put into CoP. It was just incredible seeing Al'Taieu for the first time. We eventually logged for the night, eager to see what the next day would bring.<br /><br />...Turns out it was Tuesday, which is one of Rakuen's Limbus nights!<br /><br />It was my first limbus ever, and I was really really excited. Celestria and much of Rakuen had finished CoP over a year before, and they'd been doing limbus regularly as a team essentially since then. As a newcomer to the team, I was apprehensive as to my skill compared to them, but I'd say I did pretty nicely. ^^<br /><br />We did Temenos West. It was actually pretty easy. We gathered in Port Jeuno to buy Cosmo-Cleanse, then teleported to Holla and entered central northern Al'Taieu. After running around for a bit and finding the Aw'euvhi NM for the White Card (which of course we killed), we zoned into Temenos and were almost ready to begin.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjVJWuMhnI/AAAAAAAAADo/FivdvTGWbpg/s1600-h/img_0281.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjVJWuMhnI/AAAAAAAAADo/FivdvTGWbpg/s320/img_0281.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033006940281407090" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />After the buffs, we were ready to enter Temenos.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjVc2uMhoI/AAAAAAAAADw/plis-7Uyc7M/s1600-h/img_0285.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjVc2uMhoI/AAAAAAAAADw/plis-7Uyc7M/s320/img_0285.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033007275288856194" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The newcomers (me, Blaize, and Nikup {to an extent, he had done limbus before as Denchet, since they're related}) quickly adapted to the styles and strategies of the more experienced players.<br /><br />Floor one was a general assortment of tigers.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjV62uMhpI/AAAAAAAAAD4/NtcgIqcAVF0/s1600-h/img_0289.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjV62uMhpI/AAAAAAAAAD4/NtcgIqcAVF0/s320/img_0289.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033007790684931730" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The tigers weren't very difficult, even with their signature AoE potent paralyze, which was quickly dealt with by everyone who had the Paralyna spell. :P After killing most (all?) of the tigers, we moved on to the second floor: beetles.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjWW2uMhqI/AAAAAAAAAEA/rTam-VvwNqM/s1600-h/img_0295.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjWW2uMhqI/AAAAAAAAAEA/rTam-VvwNqM/s320/img_0295.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033008271721268898" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Denchet came as NIN, so I don't do all that much curing most of the time, but there was still much to be done in the form of Erase, Haste (I kept up a cycle of 2, and Sephelia also kept up 2, along with all of his other duties... he's a very skilled player!), and various status-erasing spells. This floor is also where we got our first items chest:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjW42uMhrI/AAAAAAAAAEI/JN1iuvOgFFw/s1600-h/img_0296.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjW42uMhrI/AAAAAAAAAEI/JN1iuvOgFFw/s320/img_0296.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033008855836821170" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />My face kinda went "O.O" after I saw that many coins drop from the chest. ^^ We also got the WAR AF+1 item, which I think Blaize won the lot on. {Congratulations!} ^^<br /><br />Floor three: lizards. These weren't any tougher than the beetles, but I did find my MP a bit more stretched than usual.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjXY2uMhsI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/II16dqsNhzk/s1600-h/img_0298.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjXY2uMhsI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/II16dqsNhzk/s320/img_0298.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033009405592635074" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Floor 4 was the slimes... this was a bit more trouble than usual. We were only to kill one and then move on to the next floor, due to their very high physical resistance, but due to the low hate gain from the melees in combination with Celestria's normal damage, she ended up eating the dirt eventually... A couple times, I think.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjYFWuMhtI/AAAAAAAAAEY/9SzjtKEB-BI/s1600-h/img_0302.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjYFWuMhtI/AAAAAAAAAEY/9SzjtKEB-BI/s320/img_0302.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033010170096813778" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Finally, we reached the birds. 7 of them in the center of the top floor; Cele was purely crowd control until there were only a few left, and then she joined in with the damage dealing.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjYpGuMhuI/AAAAAAAAAEg/xf8ESlmPwos/s1600-h/img_0303.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjYpGuMhuI/AAAAAAAAAEg/xf8ESlmPwos/s320/img_0303.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033010784277137122" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />These also went down with little trouble.<br /><br />There was a floor with mandragoras somewhere in there, but I just don't have any pics of it. :P<br /><br />Total treasure drops:<br />-49 ancient beastcoins (divided by 7 party members = 7 each... very nice start to my Loquacious earring ^^)<br />-WAR AF+1 drop from Temenos<br />-I think there were a couple more AF+1 drops, but I just can't remember what they are right now. :/<br /><br />All in all, a very fruitful first limbus. ^^<br /><br />Also, Seph, despite his skill, surprised us all with something quite... amusing:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjZz2uMhvI/AAAAAAAAAEo/V6fc9d6qSTc/s1600-h/lolseph.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjZz2uMhvI/AAAAAAAAAEo/V6fc9d6qSTc/s320/lolseph.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033012068472358642" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Despite having RDM75 and WHM in the 70s as well, Seph didn't even know Diaga was a player-learnable spell. :P<br /><br />Also recently (a couple days ago, methinks), Asher and I went for our BLM AF hats. After getting cutscenes, gear, etc., we headed to Toraimarai Canal to beat up the Magic Sludge NM for the hat. Mine was first... little difficulty, but it was hitting Tarai for 100+ each time, so I would have been happier as WHM. Den, sadly, had to leave after the first one, due to Salvage, so Ash's mob was much less easily handled, especially since a scorpion popped in the room during the second fight and aggroed Whmrock. >.< <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjaqmuMhwI/AAAAAAAAAEw/uU4tXZQBbXU/s1600-h/img_0313.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjaqmuMhwI/AAAAAAAAAEw/uU4tXZQBbXU/s320/img_0313.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033013009070196482" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />ES Burst x2 to the rescue! ^^<br /><br />Sadly, Tarai had to eat R1, but the important part is both Asher and I got our AF hats! {joy}!<br /><br />Later that day, we decided to go organ farming to start on our obis and gorgets. After beginning in southern Al'Taieu, we kileld a few aerns, and decided to try and go after a yovra...<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjbOWuMhxI/AAAAAAAAAE4/CAFJaFdagKg/s1600-h/img_0316.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjbOWuMhxI/AAAAAAAAAE4/CAFJaFdagKg/s320/img_0316.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033013623250519826" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I think we managed to get it to like 96% (and it quickly regened to 100%...) before it Charmga'd and all the melees, along with it, decided to beat up on me. ; ; after some failed attempts at Sleepga, we became uncharmed and slept the yovra, and decided we didn't really want to take it anymore... we quickly also decided to go to northern Al'Taieu and take on the tougher monsters, which have a better drop rate, so I quickly ported us to Mea and we reentered Al'Taieu.<br /><br />Northern Al'Taieu turned out to be quite nice. After a bit of frustration felt by a few party members at Nikup's insistence on taking Phuabo and only Phuabo, despite the fact that he was the only one who needed those organs, we ported to Dem and took on Xzomits and Aerns, far and away the most-needed organ for the majority.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjcPmuMhyI/AAAAAAAAAFA/YMW45iHhQmk/s1600-h/img_0323.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RdjcPmuMhyI/AAAAAAAAAFA/YMW45iHhQmk/s320/img_0323.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033014744236984098" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I personally am going for my Korin (light) obi right now; I managed to get the 7 Xzomit organs, as well as the 5 Luminian tissue, but I still need the 3 Aern organs. :/ I guess I'll have to get those another time.<br /><br />Again, later that same day (Saturday, so that would've been yesterday... I think out loud, a lot ^^;), we did another limbus: Apollyon NW. Having seen a video of two BLMs duoing this limbus and winning, I was very excited to see how we would fare. This was also Denchet's first time trying out NIN/DRK, and he was psyched; it worked out very well!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rdjc5WuMhzI/AAAAAAAAAFI/OmSsHLtfg5w/s1600-h/img_0333.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rdjc5WuMhzI/AAAAAAAAAFI/OmSsHLtfg5w/s320/img_0333.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033015461496522546" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />You'll notice that Oufnev, Dugi, and Acacia were with us on this limbus; I think it was Thursday night, we attempted the Airship and won again (putting me at 2/2 ^^ much better than I thought my personal record would be), and on Frida, the rest of the team finished up the missions before {sea} access. That put us at a grand total of 11 for Apollyon NW; quite the sum!<br /><br />Anyway, Denchet noted that this is his favorite limbus, and there's good reason: a plethora of enemies, a decent challenge when necessary, along with a bunch of loot, make this limbus a blast! The first floor was a bunch of ghosts, with a doom toad boss known as Pluto. Things didn't exactly go as planned...<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rdjd52uMh0I/AAAAAAAAAFQ/jjutgUZL2Js/s1600-h/img_0335.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rdjd52uMh0I/AAAAAAAAAFQ/jjutgUZL2Js/s320/img_0335.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033016569598084930" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />After starting the first monster, Pluto decided to aggro us. -_- we slapped Gravity on and kited with Bind until the first ghost died, then we took down the boss. Getting to Al'Taieu has been a really big acccomplishment, and I've been spending a lot of time there recently; I can see myself spending even more in the coming weeks, due to limbus and farming items for my obi. {excitement}ga! PM8-1 is tomorrow, and hopefully we can get CoP wrapped up once and for all soon, and I can finally get my Tamas Ring! /drool. One tank. And a PLD to boot.<br /><br />Not possible, you say?<br /><br />Think again.<br /><br />The event was at 4 eastern today, which in my time was 2. I got on at about 9:30ish this morning to get some stuff ready for the battle. Going in, I had:<br /><br />-CCB Polymer Pump<br />-8 Hi-Ethers<br />-9 Yagudo Drinks<br />-1 Pro-Ether<br />-1 Vile Elixir<br />-3 Walahra Water<br />-10/10 Reraise Hairpin<br /><br />Exiting:<br /><br />-5 Hi-Ether<br />-1 Pro-Ether<br />-1 Vile Elixir +1 (Tarai donated, since I'm doing the fight tomorrow also =P)<br />-5 Yagudo Drinks<br />-1 Walahra Water<br /><br />Not too bad, I'd say. I got the CCB for free, since we farmed chips last night in Pso'Xja, but everything else ended up HURTING my checkbook. But eh, better overprepared than under, I suppose. ^^<br /><br />So... we all got into the Sealion's Den promptly around 4 EST, but... damnit, Kamineko forgot to get his cutscenes, AND the NM fight in 6-1. -_-; So we ran outside, killed those detectors, and Kami hopped on WHM/BLM to get the cutscenes for the Airship battle.<br /><br />So... after that was done, we were ready. After some last-minute preparation and strategy discussion, we got the opening cutscene, exited, and began the dry run against the Mammets!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc51CmuMhUI/AAAAAAAAAAw/e_Js0TYE8N8/s1600-h/img_0185.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc51CmuMhUI/AAAAAAAAAAw/e_Js0TYE8N8/s320/img_0185.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030086521433916738" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The initial dry run went... interestingly well. They died REALLY quickly due to 2x Sidewinder from Nikup and Kami, but... Transmogrification is bad. Having all phsyical attack heal instead of damage... yeah. >.<<br /><br /><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc52H2uMhVI/AAAAAAAAAA4/PW-_gGTqym0/s320/img_0189.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030087711139857746" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The mammets dropped like flies. Tarai supertanked them (with a total of +50 evasion, due to the mammets' absymal accuracy), which is when the tank goes in, grabs aggro on all of them, and either kites (NIN) or just stands and cures (PLD), while the rest of the party kills them off one by one. Since the tank isn't actually engaged with any of them, there is no hate, only aggro, so curebombing will grab no hate whatsoever... that left me totally free to cure all that damage that Tarai was taking! ^^<br /><br />So yeah, we shredded the mammets using DD support. It was very lovely. ^^<br /><br />But of course, the mammets aren't the real challenge in this battle. Perhaps the most difficult was...<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc53E2uMhWI/AAAAAAAAABA/vyjDYECweIs/s1600-h/img_0192.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc53E2uMhWI/AAAAAAAAABA/vyjDYECweIs/s320/img_0192.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030088759111877986" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />...yeah, Omega owned us.<br /><br />What happened was, when we got to Omega the first time, Tarai's fuse box blew, and her parents were tinkering with fuses to find out which one controlled... something, I don't remember. So anyway, we wiped quickly (but it was okay, since no items were used) and Tarai shortly came back on. After dying, we exited, Reraised, and waited for weakness to wear. We took down the mammets one last time, and finally went in for the true Omega kill.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc54GWuMhXI/AAAAAAAAABI/ajz1JSn_Uio/s1600-h/img_0193.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc54GWuMhXI/AAAAAAAAABI/ajz1JSn_Uio/s320/img_0193.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030089884393309554" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />...let me tell you, Omega gets <i>really</i> mean while low on life. We eventually took a wipe while he was at 28%, reraised, rested, rebuffed, and reengaged while he was at... 29%. =P We pulled with one of our two allotted CCB pumps, which stopped his initial TP move, and we used one more during the course of the fight. Omega down, only one more to go!<br /><br />Ultima was... also interesting. Tarai sadly couldn't establish enough hate early on to prevent Nikup and Kami getting hate from Sidewinder spam, so the mob was really all over. The fight was hectic until the Nuclear Waste+elemental breath part... then it got worse. Having to cast any random status cure that came upon Tarai, I was constantly casting spells, and as such my MP depleted <i>very</i> quickly. Eventually, we got Ultima to about 50%, where he becomes very dangerous with his TP moves, and thus we began our CCB pump order. I began, and that stopped some moves for a while... but somehow Ultima started going around one-shotting people, and we just kept at it. At the last 10%, the final pump was in place, but I was still in despair because Ultima was still killing people. Finally, it happened:<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc5562uMhYI/AAAAAAAAABQ/3mejGNPrlO0/s1600-h/img_0194.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc5562uMhYI/AAAAAAAAABQ/3mejGNPrlO0/s320/img_0194.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030091885848069506" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Blaize used his Icarus Wing for a nice Rampage finish. It was <i>beautiful</i>... I thought for sure we were going to go something ridiculous like 1/20 like Celestria's group did, but nah. 1/1. =P<br /><br />HUGE kudos to Tarai... it takes many duo-NIN groups many many tries to finish this battle, but through her... amazingness, we managed to do it in one fell swoop. Solo tanking the Airship as PLD FTW! ^^<br /><br />I'm sure as hell excited... after hearing the records people have had on this battle, I'm simply amazed at our skill (and luck, I guess). One more run on the Airship tomorrow, and we'll be ready for Al'Taieu access! ^^<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc571WuMhaI/AAAAAAAAAB0/ChvV0IwRmvI/s1600-h/img_0197.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/Rc571WuMhaI/AAAAAAAAAB0/ChvV0IwRmvI/s320/img_0197.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030093990382044578" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Tenzen had better be scared... because here comes Rakuen!Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-4710342108933815292007-02-03T13:49:00.000-08:002008-12-11T22:02:09.112-08:00This week......was interesting.<br /><br /><br />Accomplishment for the week:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/9740/rdm17xq6.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/9740/rdm17xq6.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Yeah... that's all. I was so swamped with schoolwork and real life stuff this week to do much in-game. But hey, I'm 17 levels closer to having my capped sub for endgame BLM!<br /><br />Oh, and I might mention that Asher is a saint. ^^ Who ever said DRK/WHM sucked? =P<br /><br />Accomplishment for today:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUFu0ZBa_I/AAAAAAAAAAM/wzJnO4ocPC4/s1600-h/snoll+kill.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUFu0ZBa_I/AAAAAAAAAAM/wzJnO4ocPC4/s320/snoll+kill.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5027430860924742642" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />...basically. ^^<br /><br />The event was at 2pm EST today. Oufnev (randomly) logged in, even though Tarai was scheduled to be the tank for the BC. She was, needless to say, pissed (but I guess that happens when you have 2 PLDs in a CoP static...)<br /><br />So after some running around and frustration in Uleguerand Range, we got to Bearclaw Pinnacle to attempt the BC. The setup was:<br /><br />Nikup - SAM/RNG<br />Blaize - WAR/SAM<br />Oufnev - PLD/WAR<br />Acacia - RDM/BLM<br />Dugi - WAR/NIN<br />Espera - WHM/BLM<br /><br />Me, Blaize, and Oufnev had Shu'Meyo salts to extend the time we had to kill the Snoll. The general strategy was to go in, let Blaize and Nikup Meditate twice for 200 TP for Nikup and 120 for Blaize, while the rest of us buffed, rested, and all that jazz. Acacia would Chainspell and Fire II for as long as he had MP, and the rest would use Icarus Wings and various skills and two-hour abilities to kill it fast.<br /><br />And believe me, it died fast.<br /><br />Blaize estimated that the Snoll Tzar died about 15 seconds after we engaged it. Basically, Oufnev got aggro first, I hit Dia II, and then used the Shu'Meyo salt. But... everyone zerged it. Nikup got this... twice:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUHVUZBbAI/AAAAAAAAAAU/WTOzvDJuWEI/s1600-h/nikup+sidewinder+snoll.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUHVUZBbAI/AAAAAAAAAAU/WTOzvDJuWEI/s320/nikup+sidewinder+snoll.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5027432621861334018" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />And he still had 4 more up his sleeve. Yeah, basically it was cake. It might have helped that it used Berserk, but eh...<br /><br />Here's basically how the damage laid out:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUIbEZBbBI/AAAAAAAAAAc/uMH-Mu6iM8w/s1600-h/snoll+damage+layout.bmp"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WLXI2JDeqOQ/RcUIbEZBbBI/AAAAAAAAAAc/uMH-Mu6iM8w/s320/snoll+damage+layout.bmp" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5027433820157209618" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Though I really did 11 damage, not 7 ^^<br /><br />It was insane. I just barely got my salt off before the thing just fell over dead. Clearly, I got no shots of the actual fight, because it was just over so fast. x.x;<br /><br />So yeah... now we're almost all on CoP Chapter 6. After some uncapped Detector NMs in Misareaux Coast, we're ready for...<br /><br />One to be Feared.<br /><br />I promise, I'm scared. =PEternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-68089274993903621882007-01-28T09:00:00.000-08:002007-02-18T15:46:34.187-08:00Some more artifact armor.Over the past few days, I've had the opportunity to collect some more of my BLM AF; specifically, the pants, from a coffer in Eldieme, and the coat, from Monastic Cavern.<br /><br />Eldieme was interesting, yet uneventful. We got the key to drop on the second mob we killed, and then we searched for the coffer. I stupidly wanted to take on a DC bomb, and I did so with no backup there... it was fantastic. I got to very very low red HP, and no MP left... hit Manafont in a desperate attempt to save myself when... *cue music* Tarai to the rescue! After resting up, Acacia found the coffer, I ran to it, popped it, and walked away with some lovely new pants. THEN I went and dinged 56 (see below) ^^<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7504/stonbanpicturexx2.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7504/stonbanpicturexx2.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Monastic Cavern was interesting at first, and quickly turned standard. I went on WHM to farm the keys with Asher (who also needed one for his coat), Acacia, and Sephelia. They had been there for a little bit before I had, since I had just logged in and was visiting with Bea, who just came back from quitting. After giving myself a Teleport-Holla, I chocoed over to Davoi, ran through Monastic Cavern, and met up with the rest of the group.<br /><br />The main farming camp was taken by a SMN soloing, so we decided to stay on the island with the house. Since we had 3 NPCs out and we were all level 75, the monsters died very very quickly on the first floor, so we decided to go up.<br /><br />Asher wanted to take on the NM for Windurst 7-2. I was convinced it was a bad idea, but we did it anyway. After opening the door to the house, we discovered it was not only the NM... but also two or three of his buddies!<br /><br />I was the first down, and after putting up a valiant fight, the others all dropped as well. Thank goodness for Reraise III. I raised up, rested up, was able to Tractor Acacia a grand total of one time, then I got aggro. After an ES Sleep, I Escaped, and ran back in.<br /><br />Long story short, I tractored everyone to the elevator (with much invising) and eventually got everyone up. We kept killing, got 2 keys within 5 minutes, and I warped back and got my coffer. ^^<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/5862/scoatpicturenp4.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/5862/scoatpicturenp4.png" alt="" border="0" /></a>Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-29420993197664391412007-01-27T10:08:00.002-08:002007-01-27T10:18:17.665-08:00YAY 56!56 is a big level for BLMs the world over, but I feel like it's bigger for me. It's probably a multitude of things; some of the best spike damage on the game, on demand; the ability to solo mobs other jobs can only dream of; and of course, the fashion.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6836/freezekill5eq.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6836/freezekill5eq.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Sure, I may only be level 53 right now, but hey, everyone starts somewhere. Soloing leeches in Gustav has been my most recent favorite hobby. While there can be some competition for the camp, it's one of the few things I can do in the game while I only have a {Short time}. And as my life has been lately (crazy, hectic, and crammed full of all sorts of wacky activities), sometimes a {Short time} is all I have.<br /><br />So whenver I encounter this quandry, I just head to Gustav and kill some leeches with Freeze. For 880 damage every time (except the time I got affected because of fire weather... even then, Stun + Drain killed it nicely), I can get consistent, even <span style="font-style: italic;">good</span> experience (the empress band can wear off even faster while soloing than it can while in party). Sure, my gear isn't exceptional, but it sure doesn't suck either; and besides, if your gear sucks when you solo, all you're hurting is yourself anyway.<br /><br />I'm about 1800 to 54; new gloves, Quake, and the Pso'Xja bat goblin pet camp await!Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270520509857975196.post-2036016284205934692007-01-21T22:32:00.000-08:002007-01-23T22:12:41.519-08:00{Wizard's Gloves}{Found it!}FINALLY got my Wizard's Gloves not 2 minutes ago.<br /><br />It all started in {Garlaige Citadel} a few days ago... that coffer is so awful. Dragging 4 people with you just to get AF gets old after a while. Plus I had to keep warping out to do various things... including CoP, as it were.<br /><br />So after a few days of struggling to get people to help with the hellish coffer, I finally got it tonight. After the minor falling out I had with Acacia over the whole Tenzen's path affair, I decided I was in the wrong and apologized. I do stupid stuff when I'm angry, and I felt bad about it... but apparently so did he, so he kindly came along. Tarai was hankering to help from the beginning, and Oufnev kindly came along as well, so, with a party of 4, we set off for Garlaige!<br /><br />The whole thing was rather interesting. After gathering at Gate #1, we passed through and ran north to Gate #3 to check behind that one. All of the spawn points were empty, so by process of elimination, we ran south to Gate #2 to check behind that one.<br /><br />Of course, as we run there, we see a BRD sleeping a Droma that had apparently aggroed him in one of the rooms with the switches... a quick /search revealed that he was a party leader, and I assumed he was in a party with a RDM53! Annoyed, since RDM has AF in Garlaige as well, we quickly opened the gate... of course, he followed. He stopped to cast Sneak while I ran west to the point on the stairs next to the drop and the rest of the party headed east. After verifying that it wasn't at the west point, the race began.<br /><br />Tarai confirmed that it wasn't in either of the spawn points in the cave section behind the gate, so once again, due to process of elimination, there was only one place it could have been: the last spawn point, after the bombs and weapons. Running as fast I could, I frantically pounded the 0 key and eventually saw it:<br /><br />Treasure Coffer.<br /><br />The BRD was right there, waiting for the RDM to pop it.<br /><br />Panicking again, hoping that the RDM wouldn't get it, I opened my menu and quickly scrolled down to "Trade". Once I was in range, and I selected my key and BAM!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2617/oldgauntlets3ff.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2617/oldgauntlets3ff.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />^^<br /><br />After that frantic race, we Escaped out, and headed for Jeuno. Oufnev logged, while Tarai, Acacia, and I went off to kill Dark Spark.<br /><br />After dropping the gloves off in the Port, I hit Teleport-Vahzl and we ran to Castle Zvahl. We ran to the torches, I buffed us up, and popped the bomb.<br /><br />No screenshots of the action, but I DO have this one!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/3396/shadowflames9ms.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/3396/shadowflames9ms.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />YAY!<br /><br />So after a Warp back to Whitegate and a silver piece to Ru'Lude, I ran to the Port and traded in my musty old gloves and shadow flames for...<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2600/sglovestext7im.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2600/sglovestext7im.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7466/wizardsglovespicture4lv.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7466/wizardsglovespicture4lv.png" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Truly the best piece of the set. I know, I know, it's annoying, but... eh. I'm actually going to update this one.<br /><br />So, I'm Espera. On Odin. Surprise! I took WHM to 75... I'm kinda masochistic for that reason, I guess. But I love it, so all is well. I haven't been meriting it as much lately... possibly because I've gotten bored of it, or I'm sick of all the TP burners treating me like crap, or something. ANYWAY, I've taken to leveling BLM, which I love to <i>death</i>, since it's amazing. I'm very much in love with my linkshell, Rakuen, since they're also amazing + they're my CoP static (on 5-3, freaking long missions -_-; and no, I obviously don't have Al'Taieu access... yet), and Celestria is about the best leader you could ask for. So this blog will be full of my daily ramblings about life on this game and out of this game and such, and... yeah. Hope you enjoy!<br /><br />Oh, and in case you couldn't figure it out, CoP is basically my biggest priority in game, so that's probably what much of this blog will be covering.<br /><br />Today was... irritating. I had to get together with some study mates to not fail classes, and my static went ahead and did Tenzen's path without me... I was annoyed, but I guess we'll do it again sometime, so no worries. Tarai helped to comfort me (what a wonderful friend she is!) and helped me to calm down by talking about... random stuff. Yeah. So I logged back in later after cooling down a bit, my intention being to help Tarai with the Mithra BC she missed in Ulmia's path earlier. (Our CoP static is nearly two full parties, so me, being the only WHM [and the only BLM for 50 cap missions now as well, since Chaosx lost interest in CoP], I often do each BC at least twice.) The time I won, we did the 2x SMN 1x BLM Astral Flow cheese method, which worked effectively. Sadly, those who missed the first run lost the second, since we lost a SMN and... well, people didn't come prepared.<br /><br />Preparation is the key to CoP.<br /><br />Anyway, I logged in again tonight intending to help Tarai and the others with the Mithra BC... but of course, they replaced me. So as we (well, I) speak, I'm sitting here in Whitegate, bored out of my mind, hoping they get done soon so Tarai can round up some people for round 3 of {Garlaige Citadel}{Gate Breach}!<br /><br />They're entering the BC now, so I guess I'll find out soon how it went.Eternalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15772322182128554867noreply@blogger.com0
